Substitutes

There is nothing more disheartening than being in the middle of preparing a meal or baking a cake, and then realising that there are 1 or 2 ingredients that you don't have. The same applies when you or a loved one suffers from a food allergy.


I will guide you through the process to help you find the perfect substitute you need.

Without eggs

To the equivalent of 1 egg

1/4 to 1/2 cup of puree bananas

1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce

1/4 cup avocado

1/4 pumpkin puree

1/4 soaked dates or raisins

1 tbsp ground chia/flaxseed soaked in 3 tbsp water

2 tbsp arrowroot powder mixed with 3 tbsp water

3 tbsp of aquafaba (chickpea water)

3 tbsp nut butter

1/4 cup carbonated water

1 tbsp unflavoured gelatine in 1 tbsp cold water

1 tbsp soy lecithin

Without diary

Milk

Oat milk

Coconut milk

Soy milk

Almond milk

Cashew milk

Hazelnut milk

Rice milk

Hemp milk

Flaxseed milk



Without Wheat/Gluten

Rice flour
